Not tasty.
I haven't considered making the homemade version of the ice cream. I'm certain I could never replace the creamy texture at home. I no longer own an ice cream maker. You have to work rather hard to screw up baked beans and potatoes. Boozy lima beans? Oh for heaven's sake.

I still can't wrap my head around pork belly being a luxury food-when I was a child that was a food of deprivation. The last time I was in Cleveland, it probably was.

There was some sort of online protest a bit back about, "We Want Plates" from people tired of being served on cutting boards or pieces of slate, etc.

So are you toasting nuts to try and reproduce the ice cream? And your jewelry is never to be outdone. I'm plain Jane. I have plenty of gardening space that has not been utilized since we moved to this house. In fact we've talked about doing a few rows of corn this year which we have not done in 4 years I think. We'll see. The chickpeas can hog up as much space as they want. I want to see how they look growing on the vine/bush. We grew their black icicle tomatoes one year-they were OK, but not much different than a Roma tomato-could have been our soil.

We're growing cumin this year too-in a large bag bed out back. I'll be curious to know how it works for you. Fresh chickpeas are just about the greatest thing, ever. We can buy bags of them at the Mexican grocer, so I won't take up space growing them, but oh they are delicious.

I might be more excited about your garden than mine!Goodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17383404429461423998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-926802874746085373.post-57366622057971330482016-02-28T22:32:55.945-05:002016-02-28T22:32:55.945-05:00I'm planting chickpeas and cumin this year in ...I'm planting chickpeas and cumin this year in the garden. Next time.
I think the Eisenhower home in Gettysburg is one of my favorite places. I think JFK's birthplace is up in Brookline, but I can't remember if you can tour the house or not.

We're going back to Kansas this summer so Danny can visit the Eisenhower birthplace and library. I was there about 15 years ago, and it was scary how much his mother's house resembled ours (typical turn-of-the-century farmhouse, I guess). Throw in my love of antiques, and the furnishings were similar as well.

I also love a good presidential library/birthplace/home. I'd like to get back to Mount Vernon at some point to really appreciate it as an adult rather than a child on a junior high class trip.

Nice to see a photo of you!Goodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17383404429461423998noreply@blogger.com
