Jigsaw puzzle pieces in various stages of completion, on the kitchen table, another sure sign that it is January.
Used to be, when money was tight, Santa needed to visit, and puzzles were the perfect gift, Inexpensive family bonding type of gift. As December left and January arrived, January meant puzzles.
In keeping with this tradition, I poured 1000 puzzles pieces out on the table and started sorting out the edge pieces.
I guess we are eating at the counter this weekend.
