A small corner of the garden was reserved for growing two types of lettuce. Iceberg and the Romaine Lettuce shown here. If a method exsists for preserving lettuce for the long haul this gardener is not aware of it. So, next year I will plant an even smaller corner of lettuce. I use lettuce, don't get me wrong but, we are not a salad for dinner every night type of crew. The crop was okay. I managed to grow enough for the BLT action and a salad with lasagna a few nights. I'm not sure if devoting the space and time to lettuce is worth it for me. Next spring I may sing a different tune and put it in the ground forgetting all about how crammed my vegie drawer in the fridge is at this present moment.
