7 Layer Bar Cookies

No photo. Awe shucks. That's okay my food photography isn't exactly up to snuff. This is an old favorite with a new twist.

7 Layer Bars

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 tsp. orange zest
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups white chocolate morsels
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup candied orange peel

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 13 x 9 pan with aluminum foil. Lightly grease the foil or spray with non-stick spray.
Mix crumbs, butter and zest together in a bowl. This will form your crust. Pat gently into your prepared pan.
Top the crust with the condensed milk.
Layer the coconut, nuts, cranberries, candied peel, and finally the white chocolate over the milk. Press the layers slightly.
Bake for 25 minutes or just until the edges are lightly browned.
Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
Lift the entire piece out of the pan via the foil. Cut into desired size pieces.

SO easy. Maybe too easy! Nah. Keeps fresh for 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month. The most time consuming part of this recipe was to candy the orange peel. You can go buy some and save some time. Or make your own like I did. Martha Stewart is a great resource for learning about how to make your own candied fruit peels.
